Sutej Singh’s ‘Kaadambari’ ft. Nandini Srikar: Charting New Soundscapes Where Progressive Rock Meets Classical Soul

Sutej Singh, from Solan, Himachal Pradesh, has released his new track ‘Kaadambari’, a fusion of progressive rock and Indian classical music. The song, driven by intricate guitars and exciting rhythms, embodies his ambition to explore uncharted musical landscapes.

Sutej Singh has become a prominent figure in the Indian music landscape. Drawing inspiration from iconic guitarists such as John Petrucci, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, and Steve Vai, Singh’s musical style is characterized by a blend of technical proficiency and emotionally resonant narratives.

This artist has announced the creation of “Kaadambari,” a new song born from a desire to explore uncharted musical territory. Driven by a background in instrumental compositions, the artist sought to bridge Progressive Rock with Indian Classical vocals. To realize this fusion, the artist collaborated with Mrs. Nandini Srikar, whose vocal talent was deemed essential to complement the song’s expansive scope. The song’s title, “Kaadambari,” is inspired by the diverse elements of the music and is also a reference to Goddess Saraswati, the Hindu deity of wisdom, music, and art, reflecting the song’s creative and spiritual essence.

His debut album, The Emerging, released in 2018, catapulted him to success, topping the Apple Music India Rock Charts and featuring collaborations with internationally renowned musicians such as Peter Henningsson, Scott Higham, Raymond Hearne, Kylan Amos, Gina Luciani, and more. Building on this success, his 2023 single Land of Gold garnered widespread acclaim by leading publications.

Sutej’s live performances highlight his international appeal and exceptional artistry, alluring audiences across the globe. In India, he has graced the stages of iconic festivals, including the historic Independence Rock Festival, known as the birthplace of India’s rock movement. Sutej had the honor of opening for the legendary Steve Vai in Bengaluru and Mumbai, an earnest effort to his standing in the progressive rock scene. He has performed at Oddball Festival, North India’s biggest rock festival, showcasing independent and innovative music, followed by his 3rd India Tour in 2024, where he spread his signature sound across the country. 

Sutej also played at the celebrated Ziro Festival of Music, nestled in the scenic valleys of Arunachal Pradesh, renowned for its focus on art, culture, and nature. Adding to his repertoire, he performed at Bandland Festival in Bengaluru, a festival dedicated to the finest bands across the globe. From local venues to major stages, Sutej continues to inspire audiences with his unique progressive rock compositions and staggering performances. With a growing international fan base across continents, Sutej’s music transcends borders. As a guitarist and composer, he continues to push the boundaries of progressive rock, earning him comparisons to legends and recognition as one of India’s most promising musical exports.

Nandini Srikar (born 10 August 1969) is an Indian singer and performer known for her popular songs like “Jo Bheji Thi Duaa” from Shanghai, “Bhare Naina” from Ra.One, and “Kannamma” from Rekka. Born in Hyderabad, she was trained in classical music from a young age, learning veena, sitar, and guitar. Initially working in software, she transitioned to music after playback singer Hariharan discovered her talent. Nandini has collaborated with renowned musicians like Ranjit Barot, Trilok Gurtu, and Wally Badarou. She released her debut solo album Beete Pal in 2011 and later worked on projects including the Pakistani film Hijrat (2016) and the song “Aurora” with gardenstate in 2021. Fluent in Tamil, English, Hindi, and Telugu, Nandini continues to be a versatile force in the Indian music industry.
