HE WAS BORN ‘DALJIT’
Born Daljit, the aspiring musician took record producer Rajindra Singh’s advice and adopted the stage name Diljit before releasing his debut album, “Ishq Da Uda Ada,” in 2004.
HIS JOURNEY BEGAN BY SINGING GURBANI
Diljit started singing at a very young age. Even when he was just a teen, he could be found singing Gurbanis at local Gurudwaras. Diljit began his musical career at a very early age and quickly became a popular performer at Gurudwaras throughout the area. He claims that being able to play and sing at these Gurudwaras was a means for him to realize his ambitions in his younger years.
HIS BOLLYWOOD STINT
Diljit Dosanjh kicked off his Bollywood career in 2016 with “Udta Punjab” alongside big names like Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt. He even sang “Ik Kudi” for the film’s soundtrack. His next Hindi venture was “Phillauri” (2017) with Anushka Sharma and Suraj Sharma. Unfortunately, his later Hindi films, “Welcome to New York” (2018), “Soorma” (2018), and most recently “Arjun Patiala” (2019), haven’t performed well commercially. Nevertheless, his latest role of the protagonist in Amar Singh Chamkila has been enthralling audiences globally.
MIND BLOWING NET WORTH
According to Money Control, Diljit’s net worth is around Rs. 172 crores. His income streams include films, live shows, a production house, television appearances, social media, and endorsements. Diljit owns two homes, one in Khar, Bandra worth approximately Rs. 12 crores, and another in California. Diljit has two clothing brands under his name, ‘Urban Pendu’, and ‘WEARED 6’
HE RUNS AN NGO
In 2013 on his birthday, Diljit launched Saanjh Foundation, an NGO for the underprivileged, which contributes to orphanages and old age homes.
DILJIT IS A LUXURY CAR AFICIONADO
His first vehicle was a white Porsche Cayenne, which he acquired in 2016. He also owns a Jeep Wrangler and a Mitsubishi Pajero. Of this lot, the most expensive vehicle in his collection is a BMW 5 Series.

Dosanjh won 9 BritAsia TV Music Awards for his works namely Kharku, Back2Basics, Proper Patola, Patiala Peg, Do You Know and CON.FI.DEN.TIAL between 2013 and 2018, across various categories. Diljit’s hit song, Proper Patola was the first Punjabi song to feature on Vevo. He’s also the 2nd Punjabi artist after Gurdas Mann who sold out the Wembley Arena, London which can seat 12,500 attendees!
DILJIT IS MARRIED, WITH WIFE AND SON LIVING IN THE US
Despite persistent rumors of a wife and son, Diljit Dosanjh maintains a tight lid on his personal life. He’s known to be fiercely private, once stating in an interview that he wants to protect his family from the pressures of his fame.

A true sneakerhead, Diljit Dosanjh boasts an impressive collection. The crown jewel? A pair of Adidas Yeezy 750 Boosts, valued at a staggering Rs. 5,80,650.
DILJIT’S WAX STATUE
Diljit is also the first turbaned Sikh to get a wax statue at Madame Tussauds.
