Bruno Mars continues his reign as the music industry’s ultimate collaborator. Fresh off his chart-topping success with Lady Gaga, Mars has now teamed up with BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ for her highly anticipated solo debut, “APT.” This dynamic duo has taken the music world by storm, with ‘APT’ making history by securing the No. 4 spot on the UK Official Singles Chart. This achievement marks a significant milestone for ROSÉ, making her the highest-charting female K-pop soloist in the UK to date.
The track also topped the Official Singles Downloads Chart and secured the No. 3 spot on the Official Singles Sales Chart. This significant achievement follows Rose’s solo debut, “On The Ground,” which made history as the first female K-pop soloist to enter the Official Singles Chart at No. 43. Rose’s impact extends beyond the UK charts. “APT” has broken records on Spotify, surpassing BTS’s Jimin for the highest single-day streams by a K-pop artist. Additionally, the music video for “APT” reached 157 million views on YouTube in record time, solidifying its position as a global sensation.
The collaboration between Rose and Bruno Mars has also made significant waves on Spotify. “APT” shattered records by accumulating an astounding 14.59 million streams in a single day, surpassing Jimin’s previous record. As of now, “APT” has amassed over 68 million streams on Spotify, propelling Rose to the top of the Global Spotify chart. This achievement marks another historic first for a female K-pop soloist.
The catchy pop collaboration has been a massive success worldwide since its release on October 18th. It topped both the global and US daily Spotify streaming charts. The song shows continued momentum with daily streams holding steady above 3 million after its initial peak of 3.57 million on release day. Additionally, “APT.” sold a respectable 5,700 downloads in its opening four days.
Industry analysts are predicting a strong showing for ‘APT’ on next week’s Billboard Hot 100. Currently, the group’s highest charting Hot 100 hit is their collaboration with Selena Gomez, “Ice Cream,” which peaked at No. 13. Solo efforts by Jennie (“Solo”) and Lisa (“Lalisa”) reached No. 51 and No. 70 respectively, while The Weeknd’s song “One of the Girls” featuring Jennie and Lily Rose Depp only reached No. 51 last year.
