The lyrics, ‘You ain’t got to tell me/ It’s just in my nature/ So take it like a taker/ ‘Cause baby I’m a giver,’ embody this theme. With its country twang, the song pays homage to Roan’s Missouri origins. By venturing into country music, Roan joins the ranks of legendary artists like Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, who’ve fearlessly defied genre boundaries.
