The album has also been a commercial success, topping vinyl sales and independent record store purchases. Other notable chart-topping albums include Paul Heaton’s “The Mighty Several” and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet.”

Charli XCX’s “Brat” has finally reached the top spot on the U.K.’s Official Album Charts, nearly four months after its initial release. The album’s ascent to the number one position comes after a series of high-profile remixes that have garnered significant attention. Charli XCX has achieved her second number one album in the U.K. with “Brat,” following the success of “Crash” in 2022. Additionally, “Brat” has claimed the title of best-selling vinyl album and the most purchased LP in independent record stores this week. Earlier this summer, Charli also secured a number one position on the Official Singles Chart with the Billie Eilish-featured remix of “Guess.”
The release of “Brat and It’s Completely Different But Also Still Brat,” a remix album featuring collaborations with renowned artists like Ariana Grande, The 1975, and Julian Casablancas from The Strokes, provided a timely surge in popularity for the original album, propelling it to the top of the U.K. charts. Back in June, the original album faced a tough challenge from Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department,” which claimed the number one spot at the time.
Paul Heaton, formerly of The Housemartins, has secured the number two spot on the U.K. album charts with “The Mighty Several.” Heaton enjoyed a series of chart-topping albums in the 1990s with his band The Beautiful South, followed by two additional number one albums with Jacqui Abbott, a fellow vocalist from The Beautiful South, in 2020 and 2022.
Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet” continues to captivate British audiences, securing the third position on the album charts. Meanwhile, Coldplay’s “Moon Music” and Chappell Roan’s “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” complete the top five. Lady Gaga’s “Harlequin,” a companion album to the film “Joker: Folie à Deux,” experienced a surge in popularity following the release of physical vinyl copies, ultimately landing at number eleven on the charts.
The re-release of James Blunt’s 2004 album, “Back to Bedlam,” has landed at number seven on the charts, marking his return to the top 10. Following a fan vote, the singer had made a playful promise to legally change his name to “Blunty McBluntface” if the album reached the No. 1 spot. “Back to Bedlam” originally held the number one position for 10 non-consecutive weeks and remains one of the best-selling albums in British music history.
