Movement Festival, originally launched in 2000 as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, has become a cornerstone of the global electronic music scene. Known for its deep roots in techno, the festival pays homage to Detroit’s rich musical heritage while showcasing cutting-edge talent from around the world. Since 2006, the event has been independently produced by Paxahau, a Detroit-based organization dedicated to preserving the city’s techno culture and fostering its future.

The 2025 Lineup: A Global Showcase
This year’s lineup is a testament to the festival’s commitment to diversity and innovation. Belgian techno queen Charlotte de Witte returns to headline, following her historic 2023 performance as the first female headliner. She’ll be joined by legendary DJ Carl Cox, who promises a live set that will “send Detroit to another dimension,” and house music sensation John Summit, who is set to close out the festival with his signature high-energy beats.

Other notable acts include Detroit icons Carl Craig and Moodymann, who will perform a special back-to-back set featuring Underground Resistance co-founder Mike Banks. The lineup also features rising stars like hard techno artist Sara Landry, Dutch DJ Mau P, and British rapper Skepta, alongside local talents such as Stacey Pullen, DJ Minx, and HiTech.
