Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Delhi concert at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium was nothing short of a spectacle, a sold-out event that resonated with nostalgia and high-energy performances. Part of his “Millionaire India Tour,” exclusively curated by Stage Aaj Tak, the show was a testament to his enduring popularity and his deep connection with his hometown.
The concert, following successful shows in Mumbai and Lucknow, was packed with iconic hits, emotional tributes, and surprise guest appearances, leaving the audience electrified. Singh kicked off the night with his signature track “Millionaire,” setting the tone for an evening filled with his chart-topping hits. The crowd was immediately immersed in the energy, singing along to classics like “Angrezi Beat” and “Dope Shope.”
One of the most memorable moments was when Singh dedicated “Premika” to his “Ustaad,” A.R. Rahman. Praising Rahman’s monumental contributions to Indian music, including his Oscar wins, Honey Singh boldly declared, “He brought us Oscars, but I will be bringing home a Grammy. I will bring my own global recognition.” This promise resonated deeply with the audience, highlighting Singh’s ambition to elevate Indian music on the world stage.
The Delhi concert featured exclusive tracks and unexpected collaborations, making it a unique experience. A fusion of “Chaar Bottle Vodka” and “Unholy” created a high-energy crossover that surprised and delighted the crowd. The surprise appearance of singer Alfaaz, Singh’s friend of 18 years, added another layer of excitement, as they performed iconic tracks like “Haye Mera Dil” and “Yaar Bathere.” Singh even gave a shout-out to his parents, who were present at the concert.
Throughout the night, Singh delivered a string of hits, including “Chaska Yaar Nu,” “Brown Rang,” “Blue Eyes,” and “Desi Kalakaar,” a playlist specially curated for his Delhi audience. He also paid tributes to his friend Kapil, Stereo Nation, Jazzy B, and Rajinikanth, showcasing his respect for his peers and influences. A heartwarming moment occurred when he invited an emotional young fan on stage to dance with him during “Lungi Dance.”
Singh also debuted new music with “Maniac” and “Payal,” giving fans a taste of his evolving sound. Remixes of “Dheere Dheere” and “Starboy,” along with hits like “Naughty Saiyan Ji,” “High Heels,” “Manali Trance,” and “Love Dose,” took the audience on a nostalgic journey. Alfaaz returned to the stage to perform “Bebo Di Gallan Pink Pink,” adding to the evening’s diverse musical offerings.
Technical Guruji, aka Gaurav Chaudhary, a close friend and admirer of Singh, also made an appearance, adding to the star-studded atmosphere. The concert concluded with an encore performance of “Millionaire,” as Singh thanked his fans for their unwavering support. He promised to return “more in shape and stylish in the next three months” and expressed his gratitude for their role in his comeback.
“I am back because of you and for you,” Singh declared, emphasizing his connection with his fans. “You heard me when you were kids, you heard me when you grew younger, you will hear me when you have kids, you will hear me when your kids get married, and you will hear me when your kids have kids.”
Singh also expressed his deep love for Delhi, stating, “Delhi is not won by the sword, but by love. Ask anything from the people of Delhi, and they give with an open heart.” The “Millionaire Tour” continues with upcoming shows in Indore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Kolkata.
