Pragnya shared an interesting backstory about the song’s creation: “Back in 2009, I had just quit my job in the US and returned to India. That’s when this tune was born. I was discussing living in the now with my friend Sunit, who then came up with these beautiful lyrics. The first version of this song was recorded in Pune and was part of a CD called ‘Awaken-I’ released by Pragati Foundation. Renowned Indian vocalist Shubha Mudgal Ji heard it and suggested releasing it through her label, Underscore Records. This was way before Spotify and Apple Music came to India.”

Over the years, Pragnya and her band have performed “Kal Nahin Aata” countless times, and they’ve now released a new and improved version. The production quality is top-notch, showcasing the seamless integration of various musical elements. With the vocal production, harmonies and phrases being one of the key highlights, the song’s peppy beats and catchy hook are sure to stay with listeners long after the track ends.
