Massive Attack has been announced as the final headliner for London’s brand-new LIDO Festival, set to take place at Victoria Park this summer. The iconic trip-hop duo, known for their pioneering work in music and climate activism, will perform on June 6, marking their first London festival appearance in nine years. In collaboration with clean energy provider Ecotricity, their set will be entirely powered by batteries, significantly reducing carbon emissions and local air pollution.

What is the LIDO Festival?
LIDO Festival is a new two-weekend event debuting in East London’s Victoria Park in June 2025. The festival promises a mix of curated musical lineups, community-driven activities, and a strong emphasis on sustainability. Alongside Massive Attack, other headliners include Jamie xx, Charli XCX, and London Grammar. The festival will also host the London leg of Outbreak Festival, headlined by Turnstile.

Massive Attack’s Climate-Conscious Performance
Massive Attack’s performance at LIDO is part of their ongoing collaboration with ACT 1.5, an initiative aimed at decarbonizing live music events. Last year, the band hosted two large-scale climate action shows, including the UK’s biggest low-carbon gig in Bristol. Their LIDO set will continue this legacy, showcasing how art and science can tackle environmental challenges.
Robert Del Naja (3D) of Massive Attack shared, “To present London’s first-ever 100% battery-powered festival day with a dynamic range of artists is an optimum outcome for us. History shows it’s often the combination of art and science that overcomes the greatest challenges we face. Clean productions beginning this journey to normalization is good news for everyone, especially for music fans and local communities.”

Lineup and Support Acts
Joining Massive Attack on June 6 are French electronica legends Air, Tirzah, and Yasiin Bey & The Alchemist, who will perform as FORENSICS. More acts are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Ticket Information
Tickets for LIDO Festival go on general sale at 10 AM GMT on Friday, February 21, via the festival’s official website. A pre-sale will begin at the same time on Thursday, February 20, for those who sign up for the festival’s newsletter.
